Founding membership papers, first printing, as issued to the two hundred and thirty-seven original believers.

The card reads:

THE RODENT REGIME — REGIME PAPERS

MEMBER No. 237 of 237.

The bearer has performed the count and found it true. The bearer remembers 1928. The bearer accepts no substitutes, tolerates no impersonators, and signs nothing without counting the fingers of the witnessing party.

Issued by the biographers. Void where the Corporation prevails.

Each card is numbered by hand on the inside band, in the manner of the first congregation. When the masks ship, the numbers will match. Founding members receive the missives before the public, because the founding members believed before believing was convenient.

Membership in the Regime asks nothing but arithmetic and offers nothing but the truth. And papers. The papers are quite nice.
